Zytel® (DuPont's trade name) is a polyamide consisting of e.g. PA6, PA66 or various copolyamides such as PA66/6. It is characterized by high strength and rigidity as well as good heat resistance. Zytel® has good toughness even at extreme temperatures. Zytel® is mainly available unreinforced, but also filled/reinforced, impact and sliding modified and flame retardant.

The excellent resistance to many chemicals, low processing costs, toughness and very good surface quality make Zytel® suitable for use in the engine and drive area. Zytel® is primarily used in technical applications and consumer products in which, among other things, metal substitution is to be achieved.
